We are looking for an experienced individual to fill a foreman/foreperson position on an apartment building permanent modular installation site in the city of Calgary for a temporary assignment (6-8 months).
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise different trades in the field and be able to manage the site on their own when required under the supervision of the Construction Manager
Ensure trades are installing as per drawing and industry best practice
Monitor and manage HSE requirements onsite
Place material orders and pick up when needed
Complete modular units’ inspections as they come off the manufacturing line
Assist with daily reporting as needed
Complete site walks daily throughout the building complex to evaluate contractors’ work
Participate in daily toolbox and weekly safety meetings
Required Skills/Experience:
1+ years foreman/foreperson experience
5+ years in the construction industry (commercial/industrial setting) and some modular construction/installation preferred but not required.
Journeyman or apprenticing carpenter preferred
Proficient in blueprint reading
Trade range understanding, i.e. concrete foundation, plumbing, electrical, roofing, building envelope, finish carpentry
Moderate/good computer skills required
Strong communication skills-verbal and email, team player
Independent work ethic and responsible nature
