Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT GRC, this role supports the coordination and execution of activities related to the policy lifecycle, including assisting with policy publication, documentation management and stakeholder outreach. The candidate will take part in facilitating meetings, track action items and support ongoing governance and compliance efforts across both corporate and product focused initiatives.

Main Responsibilities
Assist with rolling out Telesat policies, procedures and standards
Develop the ability to recognize and document potential security risks
Assist in monitoring and tracking compliance status
Collaborate with IT and other departments on risk assessments and audit related tasks
Education and Experience Required
A Diploma or Degree in a relevant area of study with a preference for Computer Science together with demonstrated IT policy related experience.
2 years of experience as a Security Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) specialist
2 years of experience in designing and developing procedures, and processes for Information Security best practices
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with development of policies, including update and communicate organization policies and procedures
Experience performing risk assessment and management, developing mitigation strategies
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience with NIST 800-53 or NIST 800-171 is an asset
Experience with CNSSP-12 and CAIQ is an asset
Experience with compliance tools is an asset
Decision Making and Supervision
Coordination with security team as well as business partners
Work under minimum supervision
Working Conditions
Generally comfortable office working environment
Although limited, the employee must be able to travel to corporate facilities

The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP) as well as a Secret clearance with the Canadian government.
