WHAT YOU WILL DO
The General Manager, Play Alberta is responsible for leading the strategic direction, growth, and daily operations of the AGLC business. General Manager, Play Alberta will lead Play Alberta to its next phase of growth as Alberta enters into a new regulatory environment and establish Play Alberta as a market leader for safe fun digital gaming. This role will work closely with direct reports, internal teams, customers, and joint venture partners to drive performance, optimize processes, and deliver on financial and operational goals. Reporting to the General Manager and Vice President, NPi, the General Manager, Play Alberta serves as the senior leader dedicated to maximizing business value and customer success in a dynamic, newly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the Play Alberta business unit in alignment with broader company goals.
Lead the AGLC customer relationship at a strategic and operational level.
Lead the GGR growth of Play Alberta and maximize returns to the province and NPi profits.
Collaborate directly with AGLC stakeholders to optimize outcomes through the right mix of product offerings, campaigns, and operational enhancements.
Serve as a key partner to executive leadership, offering insight and direction on business operations, market growth strategies, and cross-functional execution.
Align with joint venture partners and internal stakeholders to ensure strategic and operational cohesion across business functions.
Coordinate with marketing, product, technology, finance, and customer operations teams to deliver high-impact initiatives that support revenue, compliance, and customer satisfaction goals.
Identify and recommend improvements in processes, systems, and resource allocation to maximize performance and scalability.
Ensure staffing, resource planning, and departmental structure are optimized for delivering against key performance targets for compliance and future growth.
Establish and enforce policies and best practices for business operations, governance, efficiency, and security in alignment with enterprise objectives.
Manage and monitor the AGLC business unit’s budget, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
Present performance metrics, business reviews, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership on a regular basis.
Stay informed on industry trends, competitor movements, and emerging technologies in iLottery, iGaming, eCommerce, and digital customer experiences.
Lead organizational development efforts within the unit, including training plans, succession planning, and professional development initiatives.
Foster and manage strong relationships with customer executives (C-level and senior decision-makers), driving trust, growth, and partnership success.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, Operations, or a related field (MBA preferred).
· 10+ years of progressive experience in business leadership, including 5+ years in a senior operational role.
· Experience in regulated industries, iGaming, digital commerce, or technology-enabled services is strongly preferred.
· Proven success leading cross-functional teams, managing P&L, and driving business growth.
· Strong communication, collaboration, and executive stakeholder management skills.
· Strategic mindset with operational execution strength.
· Location is on-site in Edmonton or frequent travel to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
