The SHEQ Manager is a proactive leader who works under the guidance of Mauser Packaging Solutions corporate policies and procedures. They adhere to all plant safety and health procedures/policies, environmental duties and customer quality standards. The SHEQ Manager’s strategic focus is to work with the plant operations team to continuously improve the quality of the product, the safety and health of the employees and environmental aspects of the facility.
Responsibilities:
Acts as the main Point of Contact for Safety, Environment and Health related items in the plants.
Interacts with production floor routinely.
Implement Divisional level policies and mandates.
Manage all safety reporting, i.e. training records, accident reports, investigation reports.
Oversee and ensure all internal safety and quality audit programs are adhered to.
Derive and implement corrective occupational health and safety actions.
Continuously review instruction and training for all employees (including temporary staff).
Trigger, track and keep the records of health and safety training for all employees.
Prepare work instructions for occupational health, safety and quality.
Support root cause analysis, enter actions to 8D format, track actions and verify effectiveness.
Communicates and investigates any customer inquiries as they relate back to quality. Works with Operations team to find solutions to customer complaints focusing on permanent corrective action. Visits customers as needed.
Maintain Salesforce entries as applicable.
Interacts with production floor and management to determine root cause analysis for quality defects and develops resolutions to correct deficiencies.
Work closely with managers, and all employees to help enforce safety policies.
Oversee the environmental program (together with EH&S team).
Complete routine submissions to regulatory bodies for environmental reporting.
Ensure that all Management reviews are conducted as required at each site.
Prepare for and serve as management representative for external audits, customer surveys and customer site audits. Audits, summarizes and reviews with plant management team the plant quality system.
Leads and facilitates monthly Quality Management Review meetings.
Prepares and communicates month-end quality report summaries within plants and corporate.
Travels as necessary to other sites to establish best practices or to work with others in determining root cause or corrective action to quality issues.
Explain, implement and monitor the applicable regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods (TC).
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum of an Associate’s degree and/or 3 years managerial role in quality. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of quality and safety experience in a manufacturing operation.
Strong problem solver with good work ethic and decision-making skills.
Microsoft Office experience required.
Ability to travel regularly within Alberta and out of province 10% of the time.
