Worker Type: Employee Job Post End Date: 06/03/2025 About this opportunity: Reporting to the Manager of SCM Corporate Operations, the Contracts Advisor will be responsible for the end-to-end Category Management of the Health and Safety Services and Equipment Portfolios. Activities include creation of the category strategy, driving strategic sourcing initiatives and commercial/contractual negotiation of complex vendor engagements in support of Well Delivery, Projects, Upstream and Downstream Operations. This fast-paced and exciting position is ideal for a self-starter with strong Category Management knowledge and sourcing skills. What you’ll do: Develop annual & long-term strategic planning to secure supply of goods and services for the Health, Safety and Emergency Services portfolios across Cenovus Ensure Cenovus is conducting business with financially viable, technically qualified suppliers, who operate within their expertise and have a proven safety record Conduct the sourcing and contracting of external goods and services in an efficient, effective, and ethical manner that generates positive value for the organization Conduct spend analytics and supplier analysis within the defined category portfolio Leverage spend data, business requirements, external market data, and other necessary information to develop category strategies and influence implementation Assess risk and support the development of enterprise category strategies in partnership with budget owners to achieve overall Cenovus objectives Lead complex sourcing initiatives and develop associated negotiation strategies and recommendations to award Review, interpret, and analyze legal and commercial contract terms and conditions including master agreements, schedules, statements of work, confidentiality agreements and other documentation, partnering with Legal as required Lead commercial negotiations with vendors ensuring goods and services are contracted in an efficient, effective manner bringing maximum value to the organization Ensure compliance to Supply Chain Business Rules, approved SCM channels, the Cenovus Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, company policies, standards, processes and regulatory requirements Who you are: Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements: Legally authorized to work in Canada Completion of a post-secondary degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field Minimum of 5+ years of progressive strategic sourcing and Supply Chain experience is required Strong understanding of Category Management principles. Knowledge of SAP and Ariba Sourcing and a SCMP designation considered an asset We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
