The Land C4ISR Applications team designs, builds, and integrates a large variety of custom-developed and COTS applications and plugins used by soldiers in the Land Command Support System (LCSS), including Battle Management, Planning, Communication, and Data Exchange. We work hand-in-hand with our customer to integrate leading technologies from a variety of global vendors.In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a holistic view of the larger LCSS with a focus on the software, hardware, and networking on which Applications software operates. You will develop and maintain the overall integration test plan for the Applications team, creating test descriptions of mission threads for implementation by the automated test team. In addition, you will work closely with solution teams to assist in the detailed design of features assigned to the Applications team.Typical responsibilities include:Liaise with Architecture and Systems Engineering teams to maintain an up-to-date, holistic system understandingBuilding and maintaining the test descriptions for implementation by the automated integration test teamWorking with all Applications teams to solve integration problems and to help teams understand how their work fits into the larger pictureDesigning, building, and maintaining virtual testing environments, including set up of virtual machines, their software, and networkingAttending recurring Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint reviews, and customer demosParticipate in SAFe PI planningEnsure that status reporting is up to date and accurateWorking with the PO and the customer, develop a backlog and help perform initial work planningExpand knowledge of latest technologies, products and market trends relevant to area of workShare knowledge and present ideas to colleaguesPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable scientific discipline Five or more years experience working on software integration projectsAssets:Experience in development of test automation scriptsExperience with requirement management tools (e.g. DOORS)Experience with test engineering processes and toolsKnowledge of requirements processKnowledge of agile and/or iterative development methodsKnowledge of SAFeProficient communication skillsDemonstrate strong problem solving skills and ability to conduct analysis leading to good conclusionsEnthusiastic contributor, willing to learn new skills, and takes pride and ownership of workAbility to work independently, with general supervisionKnowledge in automated test frameworks and implement automated testsIt is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed.
