The senior group sales manager is able to send a proposal, build a block in opera sales and catering, compile a contract and perform other tasks as assigned in systems used by Hamilton Princess.Develop key and developmental accounts for hotels that will generate long term business partnerships. Strengthens relationship with existing customers to enable future bookings.Keep accurate records of potential customers & follow through on all potential businessQuote and negotiate prices within established parametersDevelop rapport with relevant Fairmont Global Sales Office(s), Bermuda tourism office and key partners in travel such as but not limited to ALHI, Maritz, Helmsbriscoe Participate in Accor territory sales events and trade shows, involves preparation of events, invitation of clients and facilitating of eventStays familiar and relevant with industry trends, economic trends, supply and demand in the market.Learning the strengths and weaknesses of our top competitors to be able to sell against themAble to think strategically and maximize our group potential over required periods to include use of meeting space for meetings and events. Arrival and departure patterns that fit with the hotel business needsAttending all required internal and brand meetings. Participating in on-going brainstorming sessionsDevelop and maintain close and effective working relationships with all supporting departmentsCoordinating with conventions services on groups involving rooms and banquet revenueAdhering to all Accor sales standardsMaintaining positive relations with all Guests, Vendors, Colleagues while always portraying a professional imageOvernight travel may include weekends to conduct ongoing sales calls to clients in your territoryManage and share one coordinator with other Sales ManagersParticipate in hotel committeesPerforms other duties and projects as assigned by Director of SalesQualificationsQualifications: Experience in the NYC market strongly preferred – markets are assigned upon start date but subject to change on a yearly basisAt least five years hotel group sales management experience in a luxury Hotel environmentMust be a results-oriented, highly motivated individual, with a positive attitudeA Degree in Business Management, Sales and/or equivalent experience is preferredProven ability to work effectively in a demanding and fast paced environmentProven ability to work cohesively as part of a team in a multi cultural, diverse environmentProven ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteousAbility to act independently and work with minimal supervisionAbility to work as a team while at the same time negotiate and effectively communicate within a remote office environmentAbility to make effective presentationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills essentialComputer literacy including, but not limited to, Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point essential.
