SALARY: $19.30 per hour Fulltime work (40 hour work week) SHIFT: Rotating shifts. Depending on production schedule, 12h shifts rotating between day and night shift each week, or 8h shifts rotating between days, nights, and afternoons each week. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES No prior brewing knowledge required, all training provided. Brewing knowledge is an asset Operation of all brewhouse processes and all brewhouse equipment Operation of equipment is done from a computer using a user interface, so ability to learn interface & control the process from this screen Good decision-making skills based on the feedback from information provided by the user interface and other related information Material handling: transfer, milling and weighing of grain, hops, and other ingredients. Mashing: the preparation of wort for brewing, operation of mashing vessels. Lautering: the separation of wort from grains, operation of lautering vessels. Boiling: boil the wort in a kettle and add hops. Operation of kettle. Cooling: cooling of wort in preparation for fermenting. Able to work in hot, cold, and/or damp environments, and ability to lift up to 50lbs of raw materials. Operate and clean standard brewing and support equipment. General cleaning and housekeeping, including but not limited to hosing, vacuuming, and mopping. Record keeping – detailed reports of brewhouse parameters and maintaining accurate and complete HACCP (food quality) records. Completion of checklists (paper and electronic) and 5S audits. Follow brewery standard operating procedures and quality control testing methods. Maintaining an accurate logbook and using email to communicate. Collaborate and communicate with others across teams, for example collaborating with the fermenting team on the brewhouse schedule and yeast availability. Use of Microsoft Office tools to communicate or record data, including Excel, Word, and email. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Be of Legal Drinking Age Comfortable with computers, including learning new computer-based tools Brewing knowledge is an asset Experience operating equipment via. computer/screen based user interfaces is an asset Collaborative with experience working as part of a team Good communication skills (written and oral) Engage in physical activities and manual labor as requested, including but not limited to: prolonged standing, walking, lifting pushing, twisting, pulling, and bending Lift objects up to 50 lbs Able to climb a ladder and stairs Able to work on slippery floor Able to lift objects higher than the shoulders Willing and able to operate a pallet jack (training provided) Exposure to noise and vibration Participate in the hearing conservation program Willing and able to wear all PPE as required: including safety shoes, glasses, bump cap (plastic insert), hearing protection.
