Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Writer is a vital link between our customers and the service department. This position plays a critical role in overseeing the customer service experience, including coordinating service appointments, opening and closing work orders, and ensuring clear communication between Technicians and customers. Attention to detail and a friendly attitude are crucial to deliver a seamless and professional service experience within our dealership.
Customer Service: Greet customers, assist with service inquiries, and ensure a professional and courteous experience throughout the service process.
Work Order Management: Open, manage, and close work orders, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
Communication: Contact customers when equipment is ready for hauling or pickup.
Payment Processing: Bill out service work and collect payments from customers according to company procedures.
Payroll Support: Prepare and submit service department payroll information for timely processing.
Administrative Support: Maintain departmental records and supplies, including updating fuel logs for all fleet vehicles and equipment and providing assistance in preparing and submitting warranty claims.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Parts and Sales to ensure smooth and efficient service workflows.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a service advisor or customer service role, preferably in a dealership environment. Knowledge of agriculture equipment is an asset.
Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft 365 and CRM systems.
People-Focused: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience connecting with customers in a professional setting.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
