The Backend Developer Co-op will focus on automating diagramming processes through API integrations, requiring strong coding skills. The role involves creating a proof of concept (POC) to transform data from applications like LeanIX or Excel files into dynamic diagrams using a diagramming tool. The developer will also work on Power BI dashboards and write complex SQL queries. Position Responsibilities: Automate diagramming by developing a utility that reads data from Excel or APIs to generate data flow diagrams. Customize diagrams by adding colors, fonts, and text to enhance readability and presentation. Write design documents and present design ideas to the architecture and engineering community for feedback. Implement solutions using object-oriented programming and conduct thorough testing. Create a utility that can be run locally or hosted on a server or serverless environment. Develop modular and configuration-driven utilities with potential for future case extensions. Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a co-op program at your post-secondary institution. Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or other quantitative disciplines. Solid programming skills in languages such as Python, Angular, Node.JS, JavaScript, SQL, and Java. Experience with Git for version control. Ability to write complex SQL queries. Familiarity with creating Power BI dashboards. Strong design and implementation skills, with the ability to present and defend design decisions to technical audiences.
