About the Role
As part of our strategic expansion in Ontario, abm is looking for a Business Development Account Manager based in the Greater Toronto Area. This role is responsible for managing and expanding existing customer accounts and developing new relationships across academic, biotech, pharma, government, and healthcare institutions.
You will act as a key point of contact for customers in the region, identifying needs, proposing tailored solutions, and driving business growth. The ideal candidate will bring both sales expertise and a strong understanding of the life sciences sector, with a proactive, customer-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and expand customer accounts in the Greater Toronto Area and across Canada including academic, biotech, pharma, government, and healthcare institutions
Identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth
Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers by conducting regular customer meetings (virtual and in-person)
Deliver tailored solutions based on customer needs
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience
Represent abm at regional events, conferences, and trade shows
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to develop business development strategies
Meet and exceed sales targets, KPIs, and growth objectives for the territory
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, account management, or technical sales within the life sciences or biotech sector
Strong understanding of the Canadian research and biotech landscape, especially in Ontario
Proven track record of relationship-based sales and revenue growth
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
Self-driven, organized, and able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment
Willingness to travel within GTA for in-person client visits and events, and travel to Vancouver headquarters for internal meetings
Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite
