Job Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Application Sales Engineer to join our team and act as a trusted technical advisor to both internal and external customers. This position will play a critical role in supporting the sales team by delivering technical expertise across electrical products and solutions—including wires, cables and accessories.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a technical consultant to customers and internal sales teams, offering deep product knowledge and application expertise across electrical systems.
Support Support the sales team with RFP/RFQ bids by reviewing specifications, recommending products, and identifying competitive advantages.
Deliver technical presentations on products and solutions to end users, engineering firms, contractors and internal team.
Assist Customers and Sales Team in selecting the right products based on application and needs.
Identify strategic opportunities to grow business, improve offerings, and support the Sales team.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and technical documentation in CRM platforms.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Certified Red Seal Electrician.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in technical sales, preferably in the electrical distribution or manufacturing industry.
Experience working with EPC firms, industrial contractors, and large end users.
Able to read technical specifications.
Strong understanding of electrical products, including wire, cable and accessories.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., CSA Codes and Standards).
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical details into value-based solutions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across departments.
