We're looking for a driven and hands-on Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in Cambridge, Ontario. This role is critical to maximizing both the performance of our production equipment and the potential of our people.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our manufacturing facilities ensuring that production runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a results-focused role that balances strategic thinking with on-the-floor presence and demands a passion for continuous improvement, team leadership, and operational excellence.

Working with us:
This is a permanent, full-time position based out of our facility located at 486 Main Street, Cambridge, Ontario. The ideal candidate will reside in the Cambridge-Kitchener-Waterloo area, as the role requires flexibility to support multiple shifts. Our plant operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, and while the standard hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), your ability to provide support across all shifts is essential to the success of the operation.
What you’ll do:
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, manage, and develop the Production and Loading teams across both sites.
Oversee training, coaching, performance evaluations, and individual goal setting to drive engagement and accountability.
Manage staffing schedules and coordinate hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
Production Oversight
Direct day-to-day manufacturing operations at both the Main Street Premix facility and the Dobbie Drive Pelleting facility.
Ensure all batching, sequencing, and flushing processes are compliant with CFIA regulations.
Maintain alignment between production scheduling and batching software.
Pelleting Facility Commissioning
Support the startup and commissioning of the new Pelleting Facility, including:
Equipment setup and process optimization
Training and onboarding of staff
Compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Troubleshooting and refinement of initial operations
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Monitor and manage production costs; drive continuous improvement initiatives across both sites.
Analyze departmental KPIs and operational metrics to improve efficiency and performance.
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment, forklifts, and related assets.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce Health & Safety policies, programs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure daily safety checklists are completed and maintained.
Serve as an active management representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance
Participate as a member of the HACCP team and lead relevant audit preparations and section ownership.
Maintain and manage documentation to meet regulatory standards in collaboration with the QA Manager.
Ensure quality control procedures are followed, and product standards are met.
Manage sample retention and traceability processes.
Facilities & Asset Management
Oversee general facility upkeep and manage production-related infrastructure needs.
Evaluate and anticipate future requirements to support continued growth and efficiency.
Other Responsibilities
Contribute to cross-functional projects and perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the business.
Your background includes:
5-7 years of relevant experience in operations and team leadership within a manufacturing or production environment.
Proven experience with FIFO inventory management and production planning.
Proficiency with production and automation software is a required.
Strong communication, teamwork, and organization skills.
Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals and schematics.
Must be comfortable working at heights and in elevated workspaces as required; a demonstrated ability to safely navigate ladders, platforms, and mezzanines is essential. This role is not suited for individuals with a fear of heights.
Physically capable of working in a manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 30 kg.
Strong troubleshooting and sound decision-making skills under pressure.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
