The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a mission-driven, systems-minded Head of Field Training to launch and lead Jetson University. This role will be responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive, standardized training program for all HVAC technicians, electricians, and plumbers entering the Jetson network.
This isn’t just safety or compliance training. We’re reimagining the way tradespeople think and work — from technical installs of our proprietary hardware, to customer interaction scripts, to embodying the Jetson culture in every home they enter. That means both deprogramming old habits and reprogramming new ones.
This person will build the entire program: curriculum, training delivery systems, certification tracks, in-person bootcamps, LMS platforms, and the trainers themselves.
What You Will Do:
Describe the specific responsibilities and job functions of the role
Design and launch Jetson University, our central field training platform for skilled trades
Build and continuously improve a standardized training curriculum covering:
Jetson product knowledge (hardware, wiring, refrigerant circuit, controls)
Installation methodology (ductwork, electrical, plumbing best practices)
Customer experience standards
Cultural onboarding (Jetson values, communication style, expectations)
Develop training tracks by role: HVAC techs, electricians, plumbers, site leads, apprentices
Own or implement a learning management system (LMS) for digital onboarding and self-guided learning
Develop and execute a field bootcamp program — 1–2 week onboarding experiences for new hires in regional training centers
Define and enforce certification and re-certification standards for all field staff
Build a train-the-trainer program to scale knowledge through regional teams
Work with Product, Engineering, and Ops to integrate training into real field feedback loops
Collaborate with Recruiting to assess technical and cultural fit during hiring
What You Bring:
6–10 years in field service training, workforce development, skilled trades education, or technical operations
Experience building and scaling training programs from scratch, not just maintaining them
Strong familiarity with HVAC, electrical, or plumbing disciplines — either as a practitioner or trainer
Proven ability to standardize complex, hands-on work into repeatable methods
Experience implementing or managing LMS platforms (e.g., LearnUpon, TalentLMS, Thinkific, etc.)
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — must be as comfortable in a mechanical room as in a boardroom
Comfortable traveling to regional training hubs and pilot markets
Bonus: experience with field certification programs, trades apprenticeships, or NATE/NAVAC/Red Seal programs
Bonus: background in solar, energy, home electrification, or franchised trades businesses
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000 - $140,000 per annum
Benefits:
Dental care
Extended health care
Vision care
Life Insurance
Disability Insurance
Education Support
Equity
Work Location: In person -Marlborough or Vancouver
