Job DescriptionThe Senior Estimator is responsible for the accurate, timely preparation of full-cost estimates for projects to achieve an acceptable margin while providing the best opportunity to secure the business.Prepare and / or co-ordinate the preparation of full-cost estimates on Conceptual, Design-Build / Construction Management / IPD / Lump Sum or general tender workObtain current pricing from subcontractors, suppliers and complete take-offs.Recommend/reject proposals and negotiate contractsTrack estimated costs versus actual costs on awarded projectsManage take-offs, purchasing, material control and drawing interpretation and specifications to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budgetEvaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, design unknowns, escalation and contingencyGenerate competitive bids for clients based on tendered pricing received and anticipated timelinesQualificationsPost-secondary degree or diploma in construction/engineering or an appropriate fieldTen or more years of experience in commercial construction estimatingAble to read and interpret building specifications, blueprints and as-buildsMathematical and analytical skills necessary to develop material and labour estimatesStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and BluebeamAdditional InformationChandos is an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture and this includes our recruitment and hiring process.
