About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Material Management, is responsible for purchasing materials, services, technical equipment, and supplies within established limits and quality, quantity, and price guidelines. Obtaining quotes for goods and services as part of the procurement decision phase and prepares purchase orders and negotiates delivery arrangements.
What You Will Do
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES
Procurement
• Perform and evaluate source solicitations including RFQ/RFP/RFI.
• Perform and analyze periodic and ad hoc procurement reports from procurement system.
• Perform cost structure analysis and negotiate best price with suppliers.
• Drive and achieve cost saving for sourcing program and purchase opportunity.
Contract Management
• Setup/handle/manage Standard/Customized related Contracts.
• Build strong, strategic supplier relationships and measure/analyze supplier performance and quality.
• Creating agreements for net new suppliers as well as managing onboarding process requirements.
• Validating if contracts are applicable to Bethany Care Society’s environment.
• Continuous Stakeholder collaboration to discuss requirements to ensure a thorough understanding and to keep them up to date on progress.
Stakeholder/Supplier Management
• Continuous Stakeholder collaboration to discuss requirements to ensure a thorough understanding and to keep them up to date on progress.
• Stakeholders are across multiple functions medium to high complex requirements, development of complex contracts and very demanding teams
• Providing ideas on how to simplify requirements process utilizing our systems, processes and stakeholders’ strategies
• Supplier cadence – collaboration with stakeholder, procurement and suppliers
• Develop effective long-term supplier relationships through supplier performance measurement, external benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide vacation, sick leave and other types of support for other members of the Materiel Management team on an as needed basis.
• Primarily required to work out of the corporate office but will also be required to travel to and work out of other sites that are owned and/or operated by Bethany Care Society on an as needed basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or similar.
• CSCP/CPP/CPSM or related certification preferred.
Additional Essential Skills
• 3-5 years of experience in a buyer/planner role.
• Expert applied knowledge of forecasting, supply chain, inventory management
• Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills
• Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
• Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving
• Prior knowledge of Procurement / Supply Chain processes
• Strong PC Skills in Excel, Power Point, Word
