The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring that the food is of high quality, and following proper food-handling practices while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Ensure the provision of high-quality standards as they relate to food service at The Berkeley.
Operational Excellence:
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
Ensure that all food is of high quality and meets our standards.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and report any issues to management.
Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and served in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements:
Previous education and/ or cooking experience.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage when times are slow.
Empathy for, and an understanding of older adults, aging in place and cognitive impairment.
Positive attitude and the ability to build relationships.
Patient and friendly with demonstrated experience in problem solving.
