The LTL Inside Sales Representative generates revenue for the company by selling Bison Transport’s LTL transportation services. This is done through business lead generation & follow-up, determining the fit of the client in our business, pricing major lanes and closing business. The LTL Inside Sales Representative also supports local operations with immediate volume needs, working closely with the planners to identify, and fill capacity in the system. Specific Responsibilities include: Research and understand customers’ needs in order to provide direction to the Pricing Team. Pricing is to be provided to the customer in a quick, accurate and professional way. Expected to act as the initial customer service contact for clients and will work closely with the assigned Customer Service Representative and Operations Team to ensure we properly serve the client. Support local operations with immediate volume needs, working closely with the team to identify, and fill capacity in the system. Focus on developing sales funnel, and growing portfolio of accounts. High volume cold calling is a key element to the success of this role along with following up on spot quotes. Responsible for generating new revenue through the development of new and existing customer accounts. Find new business leads, capture their information using the Bison’s CRM Tool and track success. Secure a high percentage of business assigned that meets Bison’s capacity and requirements. Provide a periodic report of activities, including a list of successful and unsuccessful bids, level of satisfaction of clients assigned to them, and leads followed up. Executive Summary should be sent to those customers where we are looking to target key lanes/ business or when no relationship existed prior to the bid. The Inside Sales Representative must follow up with the customer to determine bid award results, and ultimately secure the freight. Participate in projects relating to the position. The Inside Sales Representative will be expected to complete specific tasks to complete the project. Other tasks assigned as required. Our Ideal Candidate will possess: At least one (1) year sales experience Experience in transportation industry and a solid understanding of how goods are transported in North America is an asset. Strong negotiating and persuasion skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; written and verbal. A high level of comfort making cold calls to prospective customers. Team player with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service Ability to work independently Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to track, manage, and follow through effectively.
