The Analyst is involved in the preparation of more straight forward valuation reports which includes active engagement with peers in the industry, conducting independent research with strong analytical skills in support of the Property Valuation practice. The Analyst contributes to the software databases to ensure excellent quality of inputs to facilitate report integrity. Understanding of property tax and the appeal process is an asset. The Analyst is responsible for creating positive team member experiences, which lead to excellent client service and drive revenue and profit for the Firm. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong writing and people skills. The successful candidate will be effective in researching, understanding more complex real estate issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations. The Analyst must be deadline oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines. Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results People: Create a positive team member experience. Client: Works with their mentor to help foster client relationships and manage information inquiries and directly liaisons with client for information gathering and follow up. Value: Assists Managers, Senior Consultants and/or Directors with research to support valuations and report writing under their mentorship as it relates to a variety of property types. Builds knowledge of preparing reports, research and critical thinking to prepare valuation reports under the teaching and leadership of their mentor. Is able to communicate with industry experts as part of their role to support research and valuation principals. Shows diligence in meeting monthly budget targets. Focuses on the process of completing the requirements to achieve the AACI, P.App. Education and Experience: Post-Secondary Degree required with preference having a business (real estate) background. Path to AACI designation nearing completion is an asset. Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment. Demonstrates leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity and meet deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet navigation and research. Experience with appraisal related programs such as Argus are an asset. Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license required. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: Standard indoor working environment. Occasional long periods of sitting or standing while working. Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person, via e-mail and telephone. Independent travel requirement: 10% - 40%.
