Work Flexibility: Onsite The Director, Distribution & Kitting is fully responsible for the warehouse and kitting operations within Canada. The main objectives are to provide clear leadership and strategic direction to the distribution and kitroom teams, create a reputation of excellence and ensure a “Best in Class” organization is created and maintained through implementing solutions to further develop, drive and improve customer satisfaction / experience, manage and reduce costs, enhance and develop processes, and support the creation and optimization of and end-to-end supply chain. This role will promote teamwork and collaboration, quality performance standards, professionalism, and integrity to ensure that results are delivered in accordance with the strategic plans, objectives, and customers’ contractual agreements. Responsibilities include: Setting Direction: Partner in the development, modification and improvement of the overall Stryker distribution network, the regional physical footprint, procedures, policies, processes, and the development of new services to increase external and internal customer satisfaction and lower overall costs. This in close collaboration / cooperation with other (relevant) functions. Ensure strategic planning of the warehousing, kitting, and distribution teams within area of responsibility align with the overall vision of the Region, the Global Logistics & Operations organization, and Stryker’s mission and company-wide objectives and initiatives. Partner in the development and continued management of current and future 3PL activities to drive improved service at reduced cost while meeting Stryker’s requirements for quality and sustainability compliance. Ensure all Warehouse and Kitting operational activities within area of responsibility are in line with the applicable Medical Device Directives, applicable ISO standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, FCPA, Trade Compliance, VAT, Health & Safety, and any other local & international laws, rules & regulations. Developing Talent: Coach, develop and mentor Distribution and Kitting staff (direct and indirect) within region of responsibility to ensure ongoing career development, growth, and continuous improvement. Promote and support a culture of engagement and continuous improvement that results in increased performance, cost savings, safety, quality, and productivity improvements. Delivering Results: Oversee the physical handling, storage, transportation, and inventory control of all products transacted are in line with the divisional, corporate operational and strategic objectives while delivering on the required customer service levels with high quality and operating in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Inspiring Others: Collaboration with Division, Customer Service, and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) to develop fulfilment models to meet short- and long-term business goals and to ensure the proper communication and understanding of and adherence to customers’ needs. Qualifications: A Bachelor`s / graduate degree graduate in a Business or Logistics discipline(s) or post-secondary education is strongly preferred 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations or other related fields are required. 8+ years’ experience in a people management role with proven organizational development and planning expertise necessary to lead teams through continual changes while demonstrating high levels of engagement. Lean certification (black belt/green belt) preferred Desired Experience Leading high performing, highly engaged teams within a decentralized, matrix organization. ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems, and processes. Medical device standards and regulatory needs. Business Process Analysis, utilizing Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Reverse logistics and consignment business (such as Medical Device, Healthcare Markets). Fluency in a French language is a plus. Strong knowledge of IT systems & tools and their implications for business processes (Oracle and SAP preferred). These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
