Role:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the effective and efficient shipping and receiving department. The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures.

Responsibilities:
Daily supervision of Shipping/Receiving personnel across shifts
Manage shipping and receiving activities (including raw materials, customer orders, all pallet usage, and product returns and all ingredients and packaging supplies) to ensure the most accurate, timely, efficient, and economical utilization of storage facilities
Verification and accuracy of daily paperwork, manifests etc.
Ensure all GMPs, and Health and Safety rules are being followed and adhered to on a daily basis
Ensure upkeep of internal lifting devices. (walkie’s, forklift’s)
Direct and Maintain first in, first out rotation of product in storage and ensure the freezer and storage areas meet company housekeeping standards
Reconcile, supervise and participate in periodic inventory counts of the cooler and freezer
Supervise Shipping, Warehousing and Order Picking Staff (including monitor employee time sheets and authorize overtime and other requests via Ceridian)
Provide leadership, communication, and motivation for staff
Work with HR to Administer company policies on discipline and address complaints in a timely and respectful manner.
Liaise with Plant Manager, Production Manager, Financial Controller, Maintenance Manager, QA Manager, and Production Supervisors, and maintain effective relationships with other departments, providing input on matters related to shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy and control and storage
Able and willing to occasionally adjust shift to provide supervision on dayshift, afternoon shift and weekends when needed
Participate in the creation and maintenance of records for tracking warehousing and shipping activities for analysis and improvement
Assist production with WIP, Re-work and Hold inventory in the freezer and work with Production and QA teams to ensure proper and timely disposition
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in a related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience
Knowledge of machine guarding and lock-out tag-out of equipment
Ability to use a tow-motor, working at heights etc.
Minimum 3+ years experience in a supervisory role
Previous supervisory experience in Food Manufacturing is an asset
Strong mathematical and organization skills
Ability to effectively train and assess a team
Ability to use and learn Warehouse Management System/ERP Systems (Syspro) would be considered an asset
Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Effective Communication Skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict
Self motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
High level of integrity and work ethic
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate attention to details
Ability to assess, work under pressure and prioritize
Strong emphasis on computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel)
