Job Description This position involves providing tenants with a high level of customer service in the completion of tenant requests as well as completing maintenance duties on various types of building equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Servicing tenant requests. Performing regular maintenance duties on various building equipment including pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, and motors as part of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program. Changing motor bearings and pump seals. Assisting the Operators and other maintenance staff with their tasks on a day-to-day basis. Embody and support Brookfield Properties’ Safety, Health and Environment Policy. Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate hazards to reduce risk to the workplace. Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work safely. Take action to stop work if it cannot be executed safely or if conditions or behaviors are unsafe. Immediately report SH&E incidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions, and/or at-risk behaviors to their supervisor; then diligently work to correct the problem. Promote safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all Brookfield Properties Safe Work Procedures. Wear Personal Protective Equipment when required. Completion of other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Operations. Occasional shift work may be required. On-call rotation is required. QUALIFICATIONS SERVICE / PERSONAL SKILLS: A portion of time in this position will be spent servicing tenant requests. This daily interaction with customers requires an individual with a keen service orientation as exemplified by the consistent demonstration of empathy and courtesy in all customer interactions. Our level of tenant service further requires the communication of a sincere desire to contribute to tenant satisfaction by taking personal responsibility to resolve the tenants’ concerns. EXPERIENCE & TECHINCAL SKILLS: Firsthand knowledge of plumbing, electrical installations and repair is an asset. Candidate must have 3 years’ experience with a wide range of mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, boilers, chillers and all air handling equipment. Background knowledge of building automation systems, controls and instrumentation would be a definite asset. Able to work independently with minimum supervision. Must understand the maintenance and operational routines of mechanical equipment. EDUCATION / DESIGNATIONS / LICENSES: Minimum Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent.
