Responsibilities
Operating AFL owned equipment, such as Vibratory plow, H-Vac,
Training other team members on how to operate excavation
NSC driver – Hauling/towing trailer
Loading/unloading equipment to job sites
Installation of pathways and drops across all
Safety training, making sure all sites are following protocol for Locates and appropriate guidelines are met for safe excavation/installation
Calling locates across different Checking locates with AFL owned equipment pre installation
Project setup, as instructed by Construction manager in a new
Warehouse
Materials
Equipment
Production report submission, providing daily accurate information on
Escalation expertise, customer
Field updates, helping admin/management with region updates when day 7 SLA orders are due
Site inspections – As requested by OHS/Management
Material – Helping materials team and
Stock levels
Yard is being kept in an appropriate
Providing unparalleled customer service excellence
Use ladders or bucket trucks to access aerial locations
Accessing Fiber Optic Terminals to connect cables
Adhering to existing practices and standards to ensure consistent quality
Operate equipment and vehicle in a safe manner
Ensure vehicle and test equipment are maintained in excellent working condition
Trouble shoot technical issues swiftly and accurately
Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
Work in enclosed spaces and aloft
Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Enhancing Organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment
Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL
Require completion of training on the following aspects:
First aid
Bucket Truck
NSC
Confined Space
Spurs
Ground Disturbance

Qualifications
2-3 years of supervisory experience in telecom industry
Strong mechanical and analytical ability
Ability to do fine, precise work with their hands
Must be able to work at height of 30 feet
Ability to manage a physically demanding workload
Proficient in operating hand and power tools, and test equipment
Normal color vision to work with color-coded wiring
Fluent in English
Working Conditions
• Physically demanding workload
• Work location: Work in locations that preclude the ability to return home
• Work hours: Shift work (Weekend work is part of shift rotation)
• Traveling is required
Minimum Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Clean driver’s abstract.
• Previous Telecommunication/ OSP experience is an asset
