The ideal candidate will be Royal College certified (or equivalent) and have a subspecialty certification in Developmental Pediatrics. They will have formal leadership training, medical educational experience and a minimum of 5 years of clinical practice. The individual will be keen to initiate Developmental Pediatric Fellowship training opportunities within CHEO. The successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty appointment in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa at an academic rank commensurate with experience. While English is the language of the health record, functionality in French is an asset. The Department of Pediatrics is affiliated with CHEO, the CHEO Research Institute and the University of Ottawa. Together, we provide outstanding patient care, leading research, and quality pediatric medical education. The Department of Pediatrics provides health care to newborns, children and youth of the Ottawa area, as well as those from Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and parts of Northern Ontario (population of approximately 1.8 million). The Department of Pediatrics has 18 distinct divisions, which includes Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation. The successful physician will join the Division of Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation. This is a diverse and passionate team of 4 Developmental Specialists and 2 Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialists, with a practice focused on precise neurodevelopmental diagnostics, excellent clinical care, advanced medical education and cutting-edge research related to childhood acquired neurodevelopmental conditions. The group works closely with many skilled medical specialists, psychologists and health professionals at CHEO and the CHEO Research Institute.
