This position is accountable for the service standards, operational efficiency, staff supervision, and inventory management of the Boathouse (summer seasonal). The supervisor is responsible for the improvement and maintenance of the point-of-sale system and must possess a combination of leadership skills and administrative prowess. What you will be doing:Reporting to the Resort Activities Management team, responsibilities include but are not limited to:Act as a mentor who can train and lead the Attendant team at the boathouse with effective communicationBe responsible for taking lead on canoe rescue operationsHelp build an environment that supports staff and fosters employee development Provide training resources for employees in POS, product knowledge, guest service, and salesDevelop staff through coaching and performance appraisalsFacilitate relations with various hotel departments to achieve common goalsAssist in building a sales and service culture to maximize profitability and guest experiencePerform all administrative functions including proper record keeping of all rental forms, SOPs, point-of-sale system management, and operational health and safetyMaintain and improve processes for all aspects of the rental function to ensure timely and accurate service of all guestsDay to day reporting and communication accuracy in all aspects of department operationsMaintain point-of-sale systems and ensure accurate reportingDirect customer interaction – exemplary in all aspects of customer serviceHandle customer comments/concerns/questionsAchieve performance targets including speed, accuracy, guest satisfaction and profitabilityMaintain merchandising and cleanliness standardsImplement and maintain daily operating procedures for opening and closing, store cleanliness, stocking, and guest serviceRefine and execute procedures related to store & boathouse presentationEnsure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiativesAdhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiativesCarry out any other tasks as assignedQualificationsYour skillset includes:Minimum 2 years of post-secondary study1 year rental experienceMinimum 16 hour First Aid course requiredBoaters licence requiredRetail experience considered an assetPrevious leadership role experienceExtensive customer service experience, ability to work effectively with a diverse range of peopleProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)Strong leadership, communication & organizational skillsProfessional appearance and attitudeSelf?motivated, with the ability to make effective decisionsDemonstrates initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain high service levels under pressureAbility to meet the physical requirements of the role, including:Frequent standing and walking throughout shiftOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsCapable of lifting and moving canoes (90 pounds+)Capable of pushing pool towel bins (90 pounds+)You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts.
