With this vision and framework in mind, our Gas & Pipelines Division is seeking a Risk and Asset Management Engineer to help transform our Utility industry. Reporting to the Sr. Engineering Risk Specialist within the Asset Management team, this position will help achieve the group’s mission to lead decision-making that is data-driven, risk-informed, in alignment with organizational objectives, and delivers optimum value from assets and investments.
This position will be responsible for driving a variety of pipeline and facility technical risk assessment solutions and initiatives to help build a more resilient, sustainable, and affordable natural gas pipeline system for the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:
Lead and support the application of risk assessment techniques and tools for a variety of pipeline, facilities, and other asset applications.
Work with stakeholders to gather data, analyze for insights, and develop practical solutions.
Support the development, implementation, and management of in-house and vendor-sourced risk tools and models for various asset types.
Applying statistical treatments to data
Identifying data gaps and quantifying the impact of these gaps via sensitivity analyses
Identifying, documenting, and analyzing appropriate assumptions
Applying safety, reliability, and cost-benefit analyses to drive business investment decisions
Assist the organization in answering novel questions related to risk where existing tools are not available, including applying novel quantification solutions to new problems.
Lead and facilitate risk and stakeholder workshops.
Lead and support the development of risk assessments, business cases, evaluations, and asset strategy documents.
Ensure compliance with code and company specifications, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation with APEGA.
Minimum two (2) years’ work experience in technical engineering planning or design, with a focus on asset risk, asset reliability, and/or maximizing asset value.
Strong data analytical skills.
Strong ability to take on challenges and drive solutions that may lack a defined process/path.
Ability to collaborate with others, manage diverse relationships, and influence other groups.
Excellent time management, problem solving, decision making, organization, and planning skills.
Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Highest level of integrity and ethics.
Maintain a Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
Assets (beneficial but not required):
Knowledge and experience working with pipeline systems and assets.
Programming experience (ex. VBA, SQL, Python).
Statistical analysis knowledge (ex. Weibull curves, bathtub curves, Monte Carlo simulation).
The use of probability/consequence quantification techniques, ALARP, and/or Cost-benefit Assessment.
Asset Management experience/certification.
