Keyera Career Opportunity Job Type: Permanent THE POSITION Reporting to the AEF Maintenance and Reliability Manager, the Electrical Team Lead is responsible for leading the electrical maintenance team and supporting asset integrity and reliability across the facility. This role plays a critical function in improving maintenance workflows, executing preventative and corrective maintenance programs, supporting projects, and ensuring electrical systems operate reliably and safely. The Electrical Team Lead acts as a technical authority in electrical systems and contributes to planning, budgeting, and team development initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain trade standards and ensure compliance with Electrical Quality Management Plan (EQMP). Lead troubleshooting and resolution of electrical issues impacting plant operations. Develop, implement, and sustain preventative maintenance (PM) programs and equipment reliability strategies. Own and approve electrical Management of Change (MOC) processes Support spare parts inventory management, including maintenance of critical spare lists and approval of inventory additions. Provide technical oversight of work assigned to technicians and contractors, ensuring compliance with Keyera’s procedures and safety standards. Support the coordination and execution of electrical work during Turnarounds and capital projects. Review Maintenance Work Process KPIs monthly and support continuous improvement. Provide technical support for HAZOPs, design reviews, and engineering interface activities. Perform routine field inspections to ensure work quality and procedure adherence. Actively participate as a member of the site Emergency Response Team. Contribute to the development of the annual maintenance budget. Review monthly cost reports and forecasts; identify and address negative trends related to electrical maintenance. Provide mentorship, guidance, and leadership to electrical maintenance technicians. Ensure direct reports have current development plans, meet training requirements, and are competent in relevant procedures and standards. QUALIFICATIONS: Journeyperson Electrician certification with a proven track record in equipment reliability and electrical maintenance in live plant environments. Certified Electrical engineering technologist is an asset. 8+ years of experience in electrical systems within oil & gas or industrial facilities, including low and medium voltage (600V and 4160V) systems. Demonstrated experience in: - VFDs and motor controls (LV and MV) - Protective relays and switchgear maintenance (600V / 4160V) - Transformer (XFMR) maintenance for LV and MV distribution - Electrical heat tracing (EHT) networks and EHT design using TraceCalc Pro - HVAC systems and general site infrastructure maintenance Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety standards. Experience with Turnaround planning and execution for substations and distribution systems. Familiarity with CMMS systems, preferably MAXIMO, including PM development and inventory management. Project management experience, particularly in operational or turnaround settings. Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to manage competing priorities, respond to emergent issues, and drive continuous improvement.
