Flexible Work Agreement Type Hybrid / Hybride Posting End Date 2025-06-22 Job Grade P3 Pay Range Commensurate with Experience / Selon l’expérience Job Summary RReporting to the Manager, Linguistic Services, the Senior Translator, Reviser and Terminologist translates documents from English to French, performs unilingual or comparative revisions and quality control of translated documents, including a high volume of technical as well as sensitive and confidential texts from senior management and groups such as Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Communications, Operations and Technology. The jobholder also extracts and develops bilingual terminology records from translated documents for their standardization and integration into Terminav©, NAV CANADA’s terminology database. Job Description What NAV CANADA offers you: Challenging, team-oriented work environment Competitive compensation and benefits Defined benefit pension plan Opportunities for growth and development Flexible work arrangements Diverse and inclusive workforce In this role, you will: Provide accurate translation from English to French and revision of general, specialized, technical, as well as sensitive and confidential texts, within specific timeframes and considering the requirements of internal business partners and target audiences while ensuring accuracy, style, consistent vocabulary and formatting. Conduct all required documentation and terminology research as part of the translation process and in support of documents translated by external suppliers. Be responsible for all facets of proofreading of material published by the company, including websites and software products. Revise translations returned by external suppliers to ensure compliance with the standards of quality established by the company. Recommend to the Manager, Linguistic Services, measurement mechanisms to control errors that may have administrative, financial, and legal consequences on the company’s activities, as well as on its relationships with clients, employees, target audience and other stakeholders, and that may increase costs or damage the company’s reputation. Liaise with internal business partners on a regular basis to obtain clarifications, provide linguistic and terminology advice, and notify them of errors/issues in original texts. Answer terminology questions from colleagues and external suppliers, create relevant terminology records, and develop, standardize and communicate NAV CANADA’s terminology. What you bring: Bachelor’s degree in translation or equivalent education and/or experience. Certification from a recognized professional association (ATIO) or professional corporation (OTTIAQ) would be considered an asset. At least 5 to 8 years of experience translating complex and technical documents relating to various fields (aviation, administration, technology, finance, and human resources). Experience researching and creating terminology records. Experience providing linguistic advice to various clients. Knowledge and experience with translation software and online terminology resources. In-depth knowledge of the theory and best practices of translation, terminology, editing, comparative revision, quality control and proofreading. General knowledge of the Official Languages Act. Ability to translate from French to English would be considered an asset. Ability to use translation tools and software products such as LogiTerm and FlowFit, and to conduct research in various terminology resources and databases. Excellent writing, copy editing, proofreading, research and translation skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
