Key Responsibilities: Conduct field surveys to assess vegetation health, growth patterns, and potential risks to infrastructure. Use integrated methods (such as mechanical, chemical, and biological controls) to manage vegetation and prevent overgrowth. Apply herbicides or other treatments as needed to control invasive species or vegetation that could interfere with infrastructure. Maintain accurate records of vegetation management activities, including treatment areas, products used, and results. Select and implement appropriate management and control practices. Promote awareness of invasive species and integrated vegetation management practices to the public on a day-to-day basis. Collect and interpret vegetation population data and monitor control efficacy. Complete job duties in physically strenuous and varying terrains. Operate specialized equipment such as herbicide sprayers, chainsaws, brush cutters, and trucks. Other duties as required. Experience and Knowledge Expectations: Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Natural Resources, Forestry or Environmental. 1 year experience in vegetation management would be considered an asset. Provincially relevant first aid or equivalent Current and unrestricted Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract with less than 6 demerits Strong proficiency in using a chainsaw considered an asset Ability to acquire the required provincial pesticide applicator or exterminator license Ability to work outside and in a range of weather conditions Physically fit to work and walk in a rough terrain area Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment. Ability to work away from home for shifts Attention to detail and data driven.
