Lloydminster and District Co-op Marketplace Pharmacy is currently recruiting for a Full Time Pharmacy Assistant.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Provide prompt, efficient and courteous customer service.
Gather and enter patient information and doctor prescriptions in the computer to generate an accurate prescription label.
Prepare medications (counting, pouring, weighing, reconstituting, etc.) after a pharmacist has determined appropriateness of therapy.
Compound medications by weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients as detailed in written compounding instructions.
Manage dispensary inventory. This includes all aspects of ordering and receiving as well as ensuring proper storage and handling.
Maintain proper drug storage and security.
Monitor for and manage outdates in the dispensary/pharmacy merchandise area.
Answer telephones.
Complete third party insurance forms and other paperwork.
Instruct patients about the use of health aids and devices.
Maintain patient profiles.
Collaborate with the Pharmacy Manager in ordering and maintaining inventories in the pharmacy merchandise area if applicable.
Manage receiving, examining, unpacking, warehousing and pricing of pharmacy merchandise if applicable.
Be familiar with all products handled in the pharmacy merchandise area and to be alert to new product information to be able to provide basic information to customers regarding availability and location.
Assist in maintaining housekeeping standards within the pharmacy and pharmacy merchandise area and ensure that traffic areas are kept clean and orderly.
Complete cash register transactions.
Take inventory counts within the pharmacy department/merchandise area as required.
Be familiar with location and have basic knowledge of products handled within the pharmacy department and merchandise area.
Deliver prescriptions to patients as required.
Assist in other areas as assigned.

Experience:
Experience working in retail, preferably in a pharmacy dispensary
Must hold a valid class 5 driver’s license
