STRUCTURAL BRIDGE SUPERINTENDENT – CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re partnered with a leading self-performing infrastructure contractor looking to add a skilled Structural Bridge Superintendent to their growing team in Vancouver, BC. This is a career-defining opportunity to lead major civil works and bridge projects, contributing to some of the region’s most critical transportation infrastructure.
As a Superintendent, you’ll oversee construction from the ground up—critical lifts, girder erection, concrete abutments, and more—while mentoring crews and collaborating with senior project leadership. This contractor is known for its collaborative culture, hands-on leadership team, and strong pipeline of infrastructure work across rail, transit, and public infrastructure sectors.
THE ROLE: STRUCTURAL BRIDGE SUPERINTENDENT
In this role, you’ll lead the execution of bridge and retaining wall projects valued from $20M–$75M, managing teams of 12–20 crew members while maintaining schedule, quality, and safety standards. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role for someone who’s come up through the trades and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading field operations for complex structural projects, including abutments, falsework, girder erection, and concrete works
Managing and mentoring a team of 2–3 foremen and carpenters
Conducting construct-ability reviews and working with PMs on estimates, take-offs, and change orders
Ensuring full compliance with MOTI BC specs, project contracts, and safety procedures
Collaborating with Project Coordinators and Managers on schedules, costing, and overall project value
Supporting project delivery for a variety of structures, including highway bridges, transit, and port infrastructure
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
15–20 years of bridge construction experience with at least 10 years as a Superintendent
Red Seal Carpenter or equivalent trade background
Experience leading crews on major civil infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of formwork systems (PERI, falsework, structural steel, cast-in-place)
Collaborative leadership style focused on mentorship and team performance
Excellent communication skills and ability to contribute to project documentation and reporting
Bonus: experience with budget software and P3/public infrastructure work
