We’re looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Finance team. You will assist in managing the Canadian and global tax functions. Reporting to the Tax Director, the ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong organizational skills, and is extremely attentive to detail. The working environment is dynamic, and daily tasks include a variety of tax duties. What you’ll be doing:
Work within the tax function to assist in Canadian income tax accounting and tax compliance including preparation of T106, T1134, FAPI and surplus account calculations
Prepare annual Canadian tax provisions and ensure timely payments of taxes, as applicable
Support the preparation and submission of R&D and E-business tax credit claims
Coordinate month-end financial reporting procedures including reconciling tax accounts, preparing internal control documentation, and some filing obligations
Prepare responses to audit and notice requests from tax authorities
Help with the integration of potential merger and acquisition activities
Provide cash tax estimates and effective tax rate forecasts to the Financial Planning & Analysis group for budgeting and forecasting purposes
Support the preparation of Canadian sales tax returns and assist with internal sales tax inquiries as needed
Accountable for preparation of the transfer pricing file and coordinate preparation of transfer pricing agreements with the legal team
Prepare Pillar Two effective tax rate computations and compliance readiness
Lead the compilation and submission of Country-by-Country Reports (CbCR) for global tax transparency and compliance
Research tax issues and recommend alternative tax treatments to reduce the company’s tax burden and risks
Assist the Tax Director in special projects, as required
What you need to bring:
We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:
3-5 years of experience of accounting and industry tax experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge with Canadian taxes
Strong understanding of intercompany transactions, Pillar 1 & 2 and OECD guidelines
Strong knowledge of Excel
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
Adept at handling sensitive documents
Willingness to learn different tax concepts
Even better if you have, but not necessary
Fluency in French
Familiar with TaxPrep
Experience with NetSuite
Transfer pricing, M&A, equity compensation experience
Experience working in public or other SaaS/technology companies
CPA designation in progress
