Purpose of Job:
This position is a senior level with at least 5 years of work experience. The Infrastructure Engineer manages hardware (servers, storage systems and including the operating system). Plus working with external service providers to install and maintain the company’s technologies. In addition to the core functions, the incumbent will also perform the technology side of the company’s software (banking software, Office 365, middleware, system task automation etc.).

Main Activities:
Administration and setup of production/staging/testing environments for multiple applications
Day to day administration, monitoring and support of server, storage, backups, patch level on servers, automation orchestration service, as well as after hours on call support to deal with issues as they arise
Ensure adherence to company technology frameworks (ITIL v4), policies and procedures checks are being met for a clean audit report
Develop processes and procedures designed to improve the effectiveness of internal systems
Maintain Primary and Disaster Recovery sites, creation, implementation and supervision of DR Plan, DR test scripts and DR Data integrity
Project Partnership – participate in projects, assist the business in making good engineering and operational support decisions
Project Execution – perform tasks under the directions of the Manager of Infrastructure and/or according to a project plan in a way such that the timeline of the project is observed and the requirements of the task are satisfied
Ability to assist in the planning, design, implementation, and tracking of all infrastructure projects
Ability to clearly document system design and to continuous perform knowledge transfer to other teammates
Ability to learn on the job on new emerging technologies
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT support role for corporate applications and hardware infrastructure
Experience in scripting to automate system administration tasks
Experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365
Experience with Terraform, Hashicorp Boundary/Vault, Azure KeyVault, Nerdio
The incumbent is expected to interact with everyone including executives and thus good verbal and written skills are important

o VPN / LAN / WAN issues

o Miscellaneous system hardware issues
Strong security awareness when it comes to securing infrastructure
Good problem-solving skills
Good diagramming skills
Good understanding of ITIL v4, NIST
DevOps experience is a definite asset as we are moving towards that process style
Experience working in a banking or financial services environment is an asset
A college diploma in computer science or equivalent is required. Higher accreditation (e.g., Bachelor of Computer Science) is an asset
Completion of Microsoft Certified Systems Administration course is an asset
Ability to script and automate system level tasks (Azure Workflow Definition Language, Powershell) is an asset
