Systems Analyst contribute to the development, maintenance, support and modification of our Merchandising, Marketing and Operations application programs as they relate to the corporation. This includes the planning, coordinating and managing of small to medium Business IT projects. Working closely with the users of the systems, you will analyze the business requirements and assist with improving business processes while developing, implementing and supporting effective and efficient solutions.
Responsibilities
Meet and collaborate with key business stakeholders, system owners and end users to define business, financial and operational requirements, and identify and resolve system issues.
Evaluate existing systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement or modernization where appropriate.
Serve as a liaison between business users, development teams, vendors and infrastructure teams throughout projects.
Participate in the project lifecycle of system updates and implementations. This would include planning, design, user acceptance testing (UAT), implementation and support.
Work with internal and external QA teams on system unit testing during integration.
Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members.
Provide tier 2 application support to end users and after hours on-call support.
Develop and maintain documentation including system designs, processes and user guides.
Monitor system performance and support incident resolution and root cause analysis.
Participate in the development and action of yearly competency performance work plan(s) and development action plan(s).
Provide leadership in the areas of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), including participate in HSE activities, ensuring employees are knowledgeable about and comply with HSE policies, procedures and legislation, assist in identifying unhealthy, unsafe situations and ensure corrective action is taken.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
College Diploma or undergraduate degree with a focus on Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field experience within a retail environment.
3-years relevant work experience with a POS system and/or Master Data Management system – preferably NCR PowerHQ.
1-year experience in Business Analysis.
1-year technical knowledge of procedural and/or object-oriented programming languages i.e. BASH, Perl, Java, PS.
1 year experience managing project-based work structures or project management experience.
Strong knowledge of system integration concepts, APIs, and data workflows.
Desirable Qualifications
UML modeling skills is an asset.
Relational database management systems and SQL querying skills.
ITIL foundations.
Familiarity with Grocery, Fuel, Liquor, Cannabis store operational processes.
Experience with POSs and Back-end Systems i.e. ISS45, StorePoint, PowerHQ, DAX.
Experience with omnichannel retail environments (Brick and mortar + eCommerce).
Prior involvement in retail transformation initiatives i.e. POS upgrades, eCommerce integration, mobile apps.
