The positions support homelessness responses and preventive social policy initiatives including Family and Community Support Services, Service Dogs, and other priorities.Role Responsibilities

Minimum requirement standard:University degree in public administration/social sciences or a related field, plus four (4) years of related experience addressing social issues is required.Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:• 1 year of education for 1 year of experience• 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.The position generally demands a high level of originality and agility, as well as the ability to independently analyze complex issues and develop creative and timely responses. The position makes significant use of coordination, communication, consultation, research, analysis as well as presentation, writing, and organizational skills.The following will be considered Assets:• Knowledge of complex social issues impacting vulnerable Albertans.• Strong qualitative and quantitative research, analysis, policy development, and writing skills.• Experience working with diverse stakeholders and building partnerships.• Ability to analyze complex issues and provide clear recommendations.• Proficiency with a range of IT tools, including Windows-based applications as well as project management statistical, graphic, and presentation programs.• Experience with project management and applying project management methodologies and tools.• Experience interpreting data and information.• Understanding and experience with the GoA policy cycle.For Data and Analytics unit – the following will be considered additional assets:• Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power-BI, R, SPSS, NVivo, Python, SQL).• Experience coaching and supporting non-technical audiences (e.g., service providers) in data collection, indicator tracking, and interpreting results.Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
