The Centre for Accessible Learning Exams team has key student-facing and instructor-facing responsibilities to ensure that SFU upholds its legal obligation to provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities. The team administers over 10,000 unique accommodated exams per year and works collaboratively with Disability Access Advisors and Exam Assistants to create an inclusive environment during the accommodated exam-writing experience. About the Role
This role will actively participate as part of the CAL Exams Team in researching, creating and delivering student-focused accommodated exam services. The Specialist, Accessible Exam Services will ensure that students with disabilities feel "welcome, safe, accepted and valued" at the CAL Exam Centres. They will have a passion for detail, organization and service, as they are responsible for ensuring that the unique requirements of each accommodated exam are tracked, implemented and monitored. The Specialist, Accessible Exam Services will also take an active role and demonstrate initiative in supporting the Manager, Accessible Exam Services, with recruiting, training and supervision of Exam Assistant Invigilators.

The Specialist, Accessible Exam Services has key student-facing responsibilities to ensure that SFU upholds its legal obligation as per the Accessible British Columbia Act and GP 26 to provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities and an inclusive environment during the accommodated exam-writing experiences. This role is responsible for ensuring the details of each accommodated exam are tracked, implemented and monitored. Focusing on experiential learning and improving CAL's visibility, accessibility, and understanding of mandate, this role will actively participate as part of the CAL Exams Team in researching, creating and delivering student-focused and instructor-focused exam communications and education. The Specialist, Accessible Exam Services will also take an active role and demonstrate initiative in supporting the Manager, Accessible Exam Services, with recruiting, training and supervision of Exam Assistant Invigilators.
• Excellent attention to detail, judgement, tact and organizational skills
• Excellent knowledge of vulnerable, diverse populations including neurodiverse individuals
• Ability to collaborate with others, contribute to team initiatives and co-create strong team connections
• Excellent technical knowledge of learning platforms such as Canvas, assistive technology and computer hardware (e.g., Dell laptops and MacBook)
