Job Description: Clean dormitory and private rooms as assigned Remove soiled bedding following hazardous materials procedures and leave clean bedding Bag soiled linens in the designated area for pick-up. Count and prepare linens for pick up and verify number of linens receive Inspected rooms during cleaning for any possible infestations as per policies and procedures Report infestations immediately to the Housekeeping/Janitorial Supervisor or Property Manager according to policies and procedures Clean and disinfect empty client lockers where applicable, bag and store client belongings as per policies and procedures Sweep and mop dormitory floors Dust dormitory rooms Dust & clean baseboards, shelf tops that are in reach and window ledges. Clean lower sections of windows Spot Clean marks on floors and walls Collect all refuse and replace garbage bags Work Carts and Storage Areas to be checked for supplies - any shortages should be reported to the Housekeeping/Janitorial Supervisor or Property Manager. Note & report any required repairs or replacements to the Housekeeping/Janitorial Supervisor or Property Manager Emergency repair situations must be reported immediately to the Housekeeping/Janitorial Supervisor and/or Property Manager Mop and dust stairwells & stairs as assigned Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Comply with safety procedures including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE); use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions Must carry a walkie-talkie (radio) Ensure that all interactions with clients and staff are professional and within the scope of job duties. Any other related duties as requested by Management. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS: More than three months but less than one-year, prior related experience, including life skills, and general familiarity with cleaning and maintenance procedures Public School and/or High School Graduate An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable A police reference check for the vulnerable sector, not older than 6 months, that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $21.92 to $22.31 with a maximum of $22.70. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
