For more information on SNDL, please go to www.sndl.com The Opportunity: We are seeking a Lab Administrator with strong administrative experience and familiarity with laboratory environments. This role involves supporting laboratory operations through efficient sample management, client communication, and general administrative duties. The Lab Administrator will be responsible for maintaining sample integrity, processing documentation, assisting with quality control activities, and ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures. This position reports to the Lab Manager. Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 8AM-4PM Scope of Role: Receive, verify, and inspect cannabis products samples to ensure integrity and compliance with Chain of Custody (CoC) requirements. Oversee client CoC forms and perform timely data entry into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), assigning unique identification labels for each sample. Ensure laboratory capability and capacity align with requested testing prior to logging in samples. Properly store samples and communicate special priority requests to the Lab Manager. Perform sample preparation tasks, including grinding, homogenizing, and weighing, as required. Monitor and record quality control data, including daily temperature checks, weight verifications, and pipette calibrations. Conduct general administrative tasks, such as filing, scanning, shipping, and responding to client inquiries via phone and email. Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and other laboratory documentation as needed. Manage laboratory supply orders, inventory, and storage organization. Support laboratory staff with general housekeeping, including cleaning glassware and maintaining a safe working environment. Adhere to health and safety regulations, company policies, and external compliance requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Lab Manager. Knowledge and Experience: BSc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred with one year of administrative experience. Familiarity with laboratory functions, policies, and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with additional software programs is an asset. Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is an asset. Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and regulatory standards (ISO 17025:2017, GLP) is an asset. Ability to work with hazardous materials while adhering to health and safety protocols. Physical capability to stand, bend, and lift laboratory supplies up to 10 kg.
