Our challenge We are seeking a dynamic Business Analyst / Project Manager to lead the modernization initiative of the Royal International Money Management System (RIMMS), a critical application used for the treasury operations. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of business and technology to streamline, enhance, and modernize RIMMS, ensuring it meets current and future banking requirements. Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $120k – CAD $130k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with treasury, trading, and operations teams to understand current workflows, pain points, and strategic goals. Document detailed business requirements for modernization efforts, including GUIs, integration, and architecture upgrades. Analyze legacy interfaces, APIs, and data flows to identify gaps and opportunities for optimization. Project Management & Coordination: Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution of modernization activities aligned with strategic timelines. Coordinate with vendors, IT teams, and third-party partners involved in the SOAP/AM integration and UI overhaul efforts. Monitor project progress, manage risks, and communicate status to stakeholders effectively. Technology & Solution Design: Assist in defining and validating technical solutions that enable transition to web-based GUIs, SOA, and standardized integrations. Support the deployment of modern user interfaces and ensure alignment with best practices and compliance. Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management: Act as a liaison between technical teams, business users, and executive leadership. Facilitate workshops, testing, and training sessions to ensure smooth adoption of new functionalities. Quality Assurance & Testing: Oversee testing strategies for new interfaces, APIs, and overall system functionality. Ensure that modernization efforts uphold security, reliability, and compliance standards. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation covering requirements, project plans, testing, and issues. Prepare regular reports on project status, risks, and milestones. Requirements: 10+ years in Business Analysis, Project Management, or related roles within banking/financial services. Proven experience managing modernization or IT transformation projects, especially in legacy banking systems. Familiarity with RIMMS or similar treasury/money management systems is highly desirable. Strong understanding of APIs, Web Services (SOAP/AM), SOA, and integration methodologies. Experience with UI/UX design, preferably in converting green screen interfaces to modern GUIs. Knowledge of banking instruments, treasury workflows, and financial products. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (PMP, CBAP) are a plus. Preferred, but not required: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver complex projects on time. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent. Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP).
