What you'll do:
The Senior Administrative Services Assistant provides senior level administrative support to the Peterborough County-City Paramedics department. This position contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of the department, by supporting communication, documentation and basic process improvement initiatives, while facilitating departmental financial oversight. This role ensures that leadership has the necessary administrative support to carry out responsibilities related to operations, planning and departmental administration. This position reports to the Chief of Paramedics.
Administrative Expertise: Support the Chief of Paramedics and leadership team with high-level, confidential administrative coordination, managing communications, schedules, and reports in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Data Driven Reporting & Accountability: Leverage your analytical skills to compile, analyze, and present critical departmental data for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely, legislated reporting and contributing to transparent, performance-based decision-making.
Strategic Project & Process Improvement Support: Play a key role in advancing special projects and process improvements by coordinating timelines, drafting communications, and identifying efficiencies that align with County policies and operational excellence.
Financial Coordination & Budget Monitoring: Coordinate departmental accounts payable and receivable processes, support the preparation and submission of tenders and proposals, and maintain accurate tracking of budget performance—monitoring revenue and expenditures to support informed financial decision-making.

Our non-negotiables: You have post secondary education in Business Administration or equivalent.
Experience: You have 5 years of recent administrative experience, preferably in a municipal environment, emergency response or healthcare setting.
Financial Acumen: Demonstrated knowledge of budget administration, with the ability to accurately track, report, and analyze financial data in support of department goals.
Technical Proficiency: Possesses advanced skills in Microsoft Office and database systems to manage complex documentation, reporting, and communications.
