Working with general supervision, the Technical Inspector conducts a wide range of duties in support of various aspects of quality assurance. Responsibilities include verification of incoming and in-process material conformance, operation and administration of quality systems as well as other duties or projects that may be assigned from time to time. Nationality Requirements Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers. Job Description Specific job duties include but are not limited to: a. Verification of incoming and in-process material for conformance to drawing, specification and purchase order using various methods such as physical measurement, visual inspection and or review of inspection and/or test results and associated data. From time to time, conducting these duties may require travel to supplier’s facilities for verification at source. b. Operation and administration of quality systems c. Setup and performance of basic electrical and mechanical tests required to verify product conformance d. Sort and rework of rejected parts e. Inspection of PWBs and electronics assemblies for compliance with defined workmanship standards f. Operation of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) g. Organization, administration and maintenance of records related to material inspection/verification as described above including documenting any deficiencies noted using Standard Operating Systems. h. Operation and administration of calibration recall system/software including calibration of selected tools, gauges and equipment Skills & Capabilities: a. Completion of Grade 12 with recognized community college technician/technologist qualification or trade certification b. Excellent attitude c. Working knowledge of recognized quality assurance practices and standards. d. Working knowledge of G.D.T. (geometric dimensioning and tolerance). e. Proficient in the use of inspection and measuring equipment. f. Detailed knowledge of recognized industry standards for PWBs, electronic assemblies and machined or fabricated parts and material. g. WHMIS Trained h. Proficient in the use of basic software applications such as email, web browser, word processing, spreadsheet and database operation i. Strong verbal and written communication skills including technical report writing j. Physical job demands Will be required to maintain security clearance as deemed necessary by the company.
