Position Overview: Summary of Position: Taking direction from the department Supervisor, the Floor Helper is responsible for coordinating and ensuring production operators are equipped with sufficient supplies and work to meet daily production goals including sewing, down filling and sorting operations. Key Responsibilities (sewing): Review factory loading schedule daily with your supervisor to gain clear understanding of production targets Review the approved production sample and specifications with your supervisor before beginning production for each released purchase order Take ownership in your department by supplying continuous work for sewing operators or down fillers. Communicate with supervisor in advance if operators will be running out of work so the supervisor can prepare for changes if needed; distribute work fairly to all operators Keep department clean and organized in terms of bundles and product Responsible for taking panels or garments to be recut/replaced, and put back into production as soon as possible in order to catch up with the rest of the order Keep section organized by cleaning up thread cones daily and storing on the shelf until the order is complete in the department Transfer completed work to the next appropriate department Notify supervisor of machine repair requests Taking trims and threads from central storage, and returning once PO is done Release bundles to the line from central storage Other duties as assigned Key Responsibilities (down filling and sorting of cut goods): Checking down bags when received. Fill Down the Bag movement report. Down Distribution. Fill the Wood container with the feathers. Daily clean up (Vacuum and Machine). Remove Down waste. Empty Bag. Feather stock verification. Unloading the boxes and line up the boxes by MPOs and sizes. Transfer the incoming cut goods and trims in the trolley. For Fleece Cut goods, segregate the CO and C6 in their designated areas Other duties as assigned Education, Qualifications and Experience: Experience in Manufacturing and Apparel industry considered an asset Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Attention to detail Good understanding of numbers and measurements A good command of the English language and comprehension Strong sense or urgency and responsibility Working Conditions: Manufacturing environment Standing Walking for extended periods of time Carry up to 10 kgs and repeated bending What’s in it For You?
