Summary:
The Polymers Department is seeking to fill the role of a Process Operator. We are looking for team minded individuals to work in a crew setting. The responsibilities of this position include operating polymer extrusion equipment, pellet transfer systems, refrigeration systems, as well as ethylene gas systems.
Responsibilities:
Responds to emergencies and operating conditions ensuring that established procedures are followed
Performs routine operating tasks (i.e. monitor levels, temperatures, pressures, etc.)
Monitors operating area for abnormal conditions and performs troubleshooting activities (i.e. mechanical or process related)
Performs any and all sampling as required
Creates notifications to initiate equipment/unit repairs and assists in preparation of equipment for Maintenance
Understanding of the job progressions, knowledge requirements and departmental procedures related to the department.
Understand and execute on all production processes within the work unit
Understand and execute the support processes for the department and site
Ensure work unit production targets are met on a daily basis.
Promote and participate in continuous improvement activities related to both Safety and the process
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
Fourth Class Power Engineering certificate and a member in good standing with ABSA
Proof of successful completion of the 4th Class Steam Ticket is require
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
2-5 years Process Operator Experience is preferred
DCS or DELTA V control system
Hours of Work:
This position requires shift work. The shifts will be rotating twelve-hour (days to night) shift schedule.
