Mott MacDonald is looking for a driven and experienced Senior Systems Engineering Project Manager to lead impactful transit projects across Canada and join our Vancouver team.
You will have the opportunity to work for key Canadian clients such as TransLink, City of Calgary (and Calgary Transit), City of Edmonton, Metrolinx and TTC as well as supporting capital projects in other geographic locations, including the United States, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, tapping into the expertise of our global practices.
Our Transit & Urban Mobility team is seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Project Manager to develop, support, and lead the execution of Systems Engineering and Systems Integration projects and activities on projects executed by Mott MacDonald in North America, with a particular responsibility for those projects occurring in Canada. You will support growth initiatives through establishing and building client relationships in the systems and transportation sector, support the development of junior and intermediate staff, and contribute to Mott MacDonald’s commitment to excellence

Key responsibilities will include:
Lead the Systems Engineering and Systems Integration projects, elements of projects, and proposals within Mott MacDonald Canada, including system architecting, requirements management, and budget development/management as necessary
Plan, organize, coordinate, and work with technical and management groups in the delivery of a range of Systems Engineering and Systems Integration projects and scopes
Manage resources, schedule, and budget for Systems projects and scope on rail and transit projects.
Contribute to the development, adoption, and delivery of key Systems Engineering and Systems Integration processes and practices within Mott MacDonald Canada, including System Engineering (SE), Systems Integration (SI), Requirements Management (RM), and Configuration Management (CM)
Provide advice and leadership on Systems Engineering and Systems Integration management activities.
Undertake projects, commercial, and client management such as:
Lead and support teams of engineers and technicians to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction
Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and project team members to ensure project goals and objectives are met
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, managing project staff and subconsultants to keep projects on budget and schedule and within agreed-upon scope
Lead and mentor project team(s) of exemplary professionals focused on Systems Engineering and Systems Integration
Support the development of proposal responses
Be accountable for compliance with internal performance metrics
Maintain industry knowledge of current standards and procedures
Undertaking a ‘digital by default’ approach in deliverables
Act as a role model and ambassador for Mott MacDonald, articulating and representing our brand, vision, and value proposition internally and externally

Candidate Specification:
8 - 15 years progressive experience in Systems Engineering and/or Systems Integration with significant experience in rail and transit projects.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline (such as Software, Engineering Physics, or Systems)
PMP or related designation is preferred
A Registered Professional Engineer in good standing is preferred
Demonstrable strength in a minimum of two of the following:
System Engineering lifecycles
Systems Architecting
Requirements Management
Integration and Interface Management
Systems Assurance
Experience overseeing the design and management of Systems Engineering and Systems Integration projects and scopes
Well-developed writing and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences, and with client representatives
Experience in defining and directing systems engineering and integration activities to meet project goals
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to plan, lead, and document technical meetings and conversations with clients, contractors, suppliers and regulators
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team.
Able to interface with domain specialists, design managers, and construction project managers in a competent professional manner.
Proactively seeking to enhance personal and professional development
Knowledge and understanding of industry project life cycle, procurement models, relevant industry standards and design criteria

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $125,000 - $152,000Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
