Do you enjoy working with the public and providing high quality customer service? We are seeking a Guest Experience Attendant to join Strathcona County at Festival Place.
The Guest Experience Attendant’s primary role is to interact with guests to provide high quality customer service, including set-up and take down for rentals and events, greeting program participants and audiences, serving beverages and snacks, and ensure that our guests have an enjoyable experience. This role requires accurate cash transactions, maintenance of inventory, maintenance of a clean and organized bar area, and moderate to heavy lifting and arranging for set ups.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the safe and orderly conduct of facility guests and volunteers to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Address patron concerns in a positive and polite manner
Scan tickets and assist audience members to their seats
Greet audience, rental guests, and program participants
Room set up and take down
Using problem solving skills and a team approach to troubleshoot situations with guests and peers
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, including the bar area, washing glassware and cleaning surfaces
Serve food or snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and delivering drinks promptly
Handle cash, debit and credit transactions accurately, including processing payments and providing change
Monitor inventory levels of liquor, beer, wine, food and supplies; assist with ordering as needed
Adhere to all food safety and alcohol service regulations to ensure compliance with AGLC and AHS standards
Record and balance beverage sales
Monitor audiences, rental groups and program participants to ensure their needs are met and safety is not compromised
Monitor building condition to ensure a safe experience for guests
Maintain professionalism by keeping a clean, presentable appearance following the uniform guidelines, and using good communication skills, while being prompt and prepared for scheduled shifts
Responding to unpredictable or volatile situations including first aid, building emergencies, hostile or aggressive individuals in a way that de-escalates the situation. Act as first responders in a first aid or emergency situation
Qualifications and Skills:
High School Diploma with 1 year-related customer service experience
Valid ProServe certificate is required and must be obtained before your first shift
Valid ProTect certificate is an asset
Cash handling experience is an asset
Familiarity with food handling and service regulations is an asset
Previous experience in bartending or food service is preferred but not required; training will be provided
A team player and self-starter; ability to perform tasks as assigned but also recognize opportunities to contribute to the team’s overall success
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills including excellent customer service and public relations.
Ability to visually monitor a large area with several patrons
