Job Purpose
Herc Rentals is searching for a qualified and ambitious individual ready to support the increase of revenue for the district through exceptional customer service and sales initiative. The District Sales Manager will report to the District Manager and will be instrumental in supporting the district reach its business plan through profitable revenue generation. The District Sales Manager primary responsibility is to motivate and proactively assist the Sales Representatives within the District branches in meeting and exceeding their equipment rental, sales and total revenue and profitability goals, with a focus on generating profitable revenue for the assigned area. The successful candidate will work with the District Manager and Branch Managers to develop new markets, understand market trends, competition and other matters affecting the profitability of the company. In addition, this role will work to align sales and operation coordinators activities, goals and objectives with the outside sales representatives.What you will do...
Sales Management: Oversee the sales activities within the district, including setting sales goals, analyzing sales data, and developing training programs for sales representatives.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve corporate goals. Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor new sales representatives. Conduct regular sales team meetings to provide updates and discuss strategy.
Market Analysis: Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates. Monitor competitor activity and adjust strategies as needed.
Budget Management: Analyze and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements. Implement and manage sales programs in specific channels of distribution to deliver sales growth.
Collaboration: Coordinate liaison between the sales department and other sales-related units. Work with Region Fleet management to maintain proper fleet levels in each location.
Performance Monitoring: Ensure that sales targets are met or exceeded. Provide regular performance evaluations and feedback to the sales team.
Requirements
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of equipment rental management experience within a rental operation with increasing job scope and responsibility.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze sales data and develop strategic plans.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Attributes: Must be people-oriented, aggressive, sales-driven, and a team player.
Must be exceptionally self-disciplined and possess excellent customer service skills. Maintain a professional business appearance at all times.
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to travel 25-30% of the time with the prairies region of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Pay Range: $145-155,000/year plus quarterly profit share
