TRANSIT FIXED ROUTE NON-PERMANENT OPERATOR
NON-PERMANENT TERM
(Up to 3 positions available)
40 hours per week
Lethbridge Transit has a career-building opportunity for qualified individuals interested in becoming a Transit Fixed Route Operator. This is a non-permanent term position extending up to 12 months, with opportunities for future permanency. The Transit Fixed Route Operator position, under the general leadership and guidance of the Transit Workforce Manager, is responsible for ensuring transit service is consistently delivered in a safe, efficient manner with a deliberate focus on customer service excellence.

STATUS: Non-Permanent, Term (up to 12 months); with opportunities for future permanency.
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week; shift work required.
WAGE: Start Rate: $31.07 per hour (2025 start rate) (first 2080 hours – Hour Threshold)
Job Rate: $34.52 per hour (2025 job rate) -- after 2080 hours threshold successfully met)
Key Responsibilities:
ü Operate assigned bus in a safe, efficient and customer-focused manner.
ü Follow all safety and traffic rules while strictly adhering to time schedules.
ü Ensure customers are treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.
ü Carry out job duties to support a safe, healthy, supportive, and productive work environment.
ü Perform fare collection using an electronic fare collection system.
ü Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.
ü Report to work reliably and punctually.
ü Perform other related duties as required.

ü Physical strength and dexterity to perform job duties.
Required for the position:
- A valid a class 1, class 2 or class 2 MELT license with a Q endorsement, or the ability to successfully obtain Q endorsement.
- All interested applicants must submit a current 5-year Commercial Driver’s Abstract with their application to be considered for this opportunity.
Driver’s Abstracts dated past 30 days will not be considered.
- All candidates under consideration will also be required to:
· Undergo a complete physical functional needs assessment.
· Successfully complete and pass a Criminal Record Check through Lethbridge Regional Police Service.
