Join our team today!Job DescriptionProvide crisis intervention, health counselling, and health teachingConduct initial assessments on all new employees to ensure overall health status is in good standingProvide immunological services including TB testing and readingLead medical surveillance programs, as requiredFollows medical directives as ordered by the occupational health physicianFollow-up on reported incidents and/or injuries to staffAssess injured/ill employees for return to work in consultation with managersParticipate with health promotion and health education activities, as assignedMaintain and ensure confidentiality of employee medical filesAssisting, advising and supporting the abilities team in formulating modified work/accommodation plansAssist in critical injury accident investigations along side the Ministry of LabourConduct nursing assessments and administer first aidIdentify, manage and respond to public health notices in a timely mannerRecommend internal resources (such as Employee Assistance Program provider, occupational health physician, physiotherapy, ergonomic and other consultants) and provide information on external partnersProvide support to managers on attendance related challenges related to medical conditionsOther related activities within the Occupational Health and Wellness Department as assignedQualificationsCurrent registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of OntarioBScN or equivalent combination of education and experienceA minimum five years recent experience in occupational health nursingComprehensive, working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines – Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, OHRC, Public Hospitals Act, Communicable Disease Surveillance Protocols for Ontario HospitalsCNA certification in Occupational Health Nursing (c)Certificate or diploma in occupational health nursingBasic Cardiac Life Support program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certificationCommunicable disease surveillance, immunization protocols and exposure management knowledge and experienceDemonstrated knowledge and experience in disability case management, absence management including STD, LTD and WSIB case managementStrong assessment, health teaching/promotion skillsWorking knowledge of occupational wellness, ergonomics and safetyDemonstrated ability to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks and problem solve complex situationsStrong positive communication and interpersonal skills within team and all stakeholdersAbility to establish positive working relationships with staff and external agencies/organizations, while employing tact and diplomacyMust demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and CollaborationExcellent organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office programs, Meditech, and Parklane softwareKnowledge considered an assetAbility to perform the physical demands of the positionProven good attendance record with the capability of maintaining this same standardAdditional InformationHours: Currently days, Monday to Friday or as per operational needs and part of regular on-call rotation, which may include need to manage outbreak/emergency situations (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)Onsite First: Roles that frequently support direct patient care and have dedicated hours when they are available to patients, team members and/or other partnersAnnual Salary:
