Position Summary
This position is committed to providing World Class Customer Service to all patrons attending events at the Tribute Communities Centre. Members of the Events Team are often the first point of contact for guests and as such must always exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor.
This role pays an hourly rate of $17.20-$17.80 CAD (per CBA).
Benefits as per the union agreement.
This position will remain open until November 7, 2025.
About the Venue
The Tribute Communities Centre is Durham Region's premier sports and live entertainment facility and is managed by Oak View Group. We are home to the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League and host a myriad of other events including concerts, ice skating, family shows, trade shows, convocations, and more.
Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and employees
Greet all guests in a welcoming and friendly manner, consistently maintaining a positie attitude
Conduct regular inspections of deployed positions, ensuring the safety of all guests at all times
Assist with maintaining a safe environment throughout the Tribute Communities Centre at all times
Act as Ambassador for Oak View Group
Operate a ticket scanner and follow ticket scanning protocol as outlined in team training
Verify patrons tickets as required, direct guests to their seat locations accurately
Direct guests to various amenities throughout the building and surrounding area
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Be familiar with and enforce all policies and procedures as outlined per event
Be familiar with and able to act within the guidelines of the Accessability for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
Adhere to all Oak View Group's service standards and policies, including Health and Safety
Work in compliance within the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Ability to pay close attention to detail
Work with enthusiasm and professionalism at all times
Perform any additional tasks/duties as may be required /assigned
Qualifications
Must possess a valid and current Smart Serve Certification or be willing to obtain if hired and prior to first shift
Must be at least 18 years of age
Able to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules (including evenings, weekends, holidays)
Available for events/shifts 12 months of the year
Knowledge of Event Services and affiliated roles/responsibilities an asset
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Proven customer service experience an asset
Posess excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
Must be physically fit to perform all essential duties/requirements associated with the job (including but not limited to standing for long periods of time, climbing/descending stairs multiple times)
Strong knowledge of Alcohol Control Policies in event driven environment an asset
Familiarity with the City of Oshawa and local attractions an asset
