FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Field Operations Manager plays a vital role in guiding the construction process from start to finish. This position is responsible for monitoring daily site operations, coordinating across teams, and proactively addressing any challenges that may affect project timelines or quality. By fostering open communication and strong collaboration, the Manager helps ensure alignment across all projects. With a focus on leadership and execution, they are accountable for supporting the delivery of projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
What you’ll be doing:
Project Oversight & Scheduling
Monitor construction progress by conducting regular site walk-throughs and verifying that projects align with schedules and quality expectations
Identify and address potential delays or inefficiencies in real-time to keep project schedules on track
Actively participate in pre-construction meetings and documentation reviews to ensure constructability, planning, logistics and staffing of projects before work begins
Support Site Superintendents and Project Managers with schedule adjustments to accommodate delays or unforeseen site conditions, minimizing downtime and ensuring teams remain informed
Assist with workforce forecasting and scheduling to ensure adequate resources are in place to meet deadlines while maintaining oversight of the allocated budget.
Trade & Team Coordination
Share updates on site priorities, design modifications, or other changes that impact multiple teams
Develop policies and procedures to provide site teams clarity of expectations and structure to have repeatable and successful projects
Assist the Site Superintendents in resolving issues related to trade performance and any other issues that may affect the project build cycle
Participate in project post-mortems and identify opportunities for improvement through a review of challenges encountered through the project cycle – communicate results with the team and implement process improvements
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Perform regular inspections to maintain quality control, ensuring minimal deficiencies and change orders
Budget & Resource Management
Oversee equipment and tool inventory management to ensure tracking and resource allocation is appropriate and reported accurately
Ensure tool assignments to projects are invoiced correctly on a monthly basis
Leadership & Team Development
Assist in developing a formal mentorship program to ensure consistency and scalability of support and coaching in best construction practices and execution strategies
Support team growth and succession planning by identifying and developing key talent within the construction team
Attend construction meetings to align on project status, problem-solve, and contribute to strategic decision-making
What you’ll bring:
7+ years of experience with full-cycle construction projects in both residential high-rise concrete and low-rise wood frame builds in a Site Superintendent position or similar role
3+ years of team leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching employees
Gold Seal Certification (GSC) in Construction Management and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a definite asset
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
Ability to remain calm and focused even in stressful situations
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
